LIVE SOUND INSTALLATION
ØSTRE 2ND FLOOR
WEDNESDAY 24 SEPT 19.00- 20.00 (DOORS OPEN FROM 18.30)
Dreamspaces is a live audiovisual installation made in collaboration with architect and media artist Alessandra Zucchi and inspired by twentieth-century artists’s works particularly focused on the relationship between human body and architectural space (Dan Flavin, Le Corbusier, Anish Kapoor, Maurice Agis, Verner Panton, Marian Zazeela, James Turrell). The space and acoustic environment is reshaped, manipulated, offered to the audience in a new shape of light and sound. A different dimension that combines contemplative fruition of ambiences with seventies style visionary. Dreamspaces has been successfully exhibited in Milan, Athens, Berlin, New York, Barcelona and Lisbon.
Antonio Della Marina is an Italian electronic composer and sound artist, who for several years has focused on working with sinusoids. Clearly influenced by the minimalist avant-garde of the American east coast in the sixties and seventies, his work exploits the physical properties of sound and its relationship with human perception. Della Marina uses mathematical abstractions and custom built generators to shape his compositions which are often offered in the form of sonorous sound sculptures. Since 1998 he has been active in sound art through concerts and sound installations in Europe, collaborating with artists like Paulo Raposo, Klaus Filip, Michael Delia, Urkuma and Werner Durand. Commissioned works has been made by Antonio Della Marina for Università Federico II di Napoli, Triennale di Milano, Futurshow, Biennale di Architettura di Venezia, Università degli Studi di Bologna. In 2006 he was artistic director of Pushing the Medium #3 – Making sound visible, international symposium on sound and mixed media art in collaboration with Università degli Studi di Udine, Orchestra Filarmonica di Udine, Binaural Associaçao and MoKS.
Architect and media artist, Alessandra Zucchi graduated from Venice University of Architecture. Her works mainly focus on the relation between architectonic space and sensoric perception, experimenting with unusual materials and interweaving light, sound and spatial forms. She uses the images she collects on location, and through live manipulation she creates immersive ambiences in continue chromatic and formal evolution. She has been guest of international art festivals with projects, performances and videos.
