The third instalment of the VibrationalSemantics series is a new text by poet, writer and performer Holly Pester.

Five Devours is a text about need and food as a part of speech, about speech’s relationship to nourishment and hunger; the currency between eating and speaking, expending and consuming.

The Vibrational Semantics text series explores the voice’s ability to shift seamlessly between signification and sonority, from speech sound to noise. Questions of linguistic ambiguity, embodied voicing and feeling/ meaning are investigated in relation to the place and presence of the performed voice.

The project is part of artist Samuel Brzeski’s ongoing artistic engagement with Lydgalleriet, involving several newly commissioned text works curated by Samuel and commissioned by Lydgalleriet. The texts will be released in the months building up to Samuel’s solo exhibition with Lydgalleriet, opening February 2023.
