Lydgalleriet presenterer Jeff Carey og hans musikk i to versjoner: som elektro-instrumentalist og som komponist av elektroakustiske verk.

Midt mellom to totalt forskjellige innfallsvinkler til elektronisk musikk forsøker han å håndtere sanntids improvisasjon, muligheten for å fatte musikalske beslutninger i øyeblikket og knallhard kontroll på alle sider av lyden. Carey bygger sin egne lydsystemer fra grunnen og opp – utelukkende med sin egen teknologi. Han har nylig gitt ut 7-tommeren “Jeff Careys MoHa!” på Rune Grammofon. Konserten vil bestå av verka Structural Unit II og Speaker Quartet II samt en avdeling med live improvisert elektronisk musikk.

Carey er en sentral del av N Collective, bla. i ensemble som Office-R(6), USA/USB, SKIF+++ og har dukket opp på festivaler som Pixilerations, NIME, High Zero, Natt Jazz, Gaudeamus Live Electronic Music Festival, Sonic Acts XI, SEAMUS, Ekko Festival, NuMusic, Borealis, The Chelsea Museum, De Appel, Gaudeamus International Music Week, og The Night of the Unexpected.

Carey er i Bergen for å utvikle et prosjekt på BEK i samarbeid med Bjørnar Habbestad og Lydgalleriet.

In the midst of two totally different approaches to electronic music, he tries to handle real-time improvisation, the ability to make musical decisions at the moment and cumbersome control on all sides of the sound. Carey builds its own sound systems from scratch and up - exclusively with its own technology. He recently released the 7-inch "Jeff Careys MoHa!" on Rune grammofon. The concert will consist of Works Structural Unit II and Speaker Quartet II as well as a department with live improvised electronic music.
