Pneuma (Gresk) “å blåse, en vind, blast, vind, påvirkning, pustet luft, pust, lukt, duft, ånd av enperson, inspirasjon, en ånd, spøkelse,” fra pnein “å blåse, å puste,” fra PIE root *pneu – “å puste”, av imiterende opprinnelse (jfr. gresk pnoe “pust”, pnoia “puste,”Old English fnora “nysing,” fnæran “å fnyse”).

Kosmos Wurlitzer er et fullstendig analogt system av luftkanaler, belger, ventiler og fløyter som leser stjernekart og transformerer dem til lyd. Som sådan, er det pneumatiske systemet en svært skjør arkitektur, med mye tilfelles til det menneskelige kropp. Denne typen arkitektur omvandler luft til et skulpturelt materiale, som omskaper de andre materialene som tre, skinn og gummi til beholdere. Versto `s arbeid kan leses som aforismer i skulpturell form. Hans nåværende interesser på mnemonic disiplin og dens anvendelse i forhold til minne er en kunstnerisk bevegelse ut i det dramaturgiske landskap. I likhet til håndverkere som jakter på forståelig og gjennomsiktig konstellasjoner fra denne personlige avgrunn.

Ånond Versto har produsert et nytt appendix for hans Kosmos Wurlitzer `s pneumatisk struktur, som har nå tre kromatiske oktaver av organ fløyter.

Greek pnoe “breath,” pnoia “breathing;” Old English fnora “sneezing,” fnæran “to snort”).

Kosmos Wurlitzer is a machine made up of custom built pneumatic elements to create an automatic organ which plays star constellation map-plates. The basic units of the system is the bellow section, a chamber and valve system which channels the flow of air pressure between the chambers. As such, the pneumatic system is a very fragile architecture, much like a body. This sort of architecture makes air into a sculptural material, subordinating the wood, the rubber, the leather and all the other materials to containers.

Ånond Versto has produced a new appendix for his Kosmos Wurlitzer`s pneumatic body, now including three chromatic octaves of organ-flutes. This new body of work will premier at Lydgalleriet.Versto`s work can be read as aphorisms in sculptural form. His current interests on mnemonic discipline and its application on memory approached what can be considered a dramaturgical landscape… as a craftsmen who hunts for comprehensible and transparent constellations from within this personal abyss.
