In Mikrophonie, Lemur explores the musical possibilities found inside the ensemble instruments.
The audience gains access to Lemur's distinctive audio world through headphones, creating a unique listening situation. The piece is a homage to Stockhausen's work with the same title, pointing out how the ensemble uses microphones to extract almost untrue vocals. Lemur collaborates in this project with the French composer and sound engineer Benjamin Maumus. Maumus is one of France's most experienced performers of multi-channel electroacoustic music and works at the GMEA Center for Musical Creation - in Albi.
