Juan Sebastián Vassallo is a composer, music researcher, and performer.

Having completed his doctoral research at the Grieg Academy, University of Bergen, his artistic research project, Outward Threads – Intuitive Computers / Rational Composers, explores collaboration between humans and machines through the use of artificial intelligence and algorithmic processes in composition.

Vassallo has gained international recognition, with works presented at prestigious venues and festivals such as the International Computer Music Conference and New Music Days in Lucerne. His practice often combines traditional instruments with innovative technological frameworks, creating distinctive and immersive sound worlds.
