PARABOL - i samarbeid med Kunsthall 3.14 velger Lydgalleriet et lydarbeid som vil bli mediert gjennom den parabolske høyttaleren plassert i galleriets inngangsparti. Med en spesiell fokus på kommisjoner og redigeringer, tilbyr høyttalerens tilstøtende beliggenhet en atmosfære og modus som adresserer den samtidige utstillingen oppe i Kunsthall 3.14.

Lydkomponenten i Combined national anthems omfatter nasjonalsangene fra Kypros, Danmark, Tyskland, Irland, Italia, Latvia, Litauen, Moldova, Polen, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, Storbritannia og USA, land som alle har eiketreet som sitt nasjonaltre.

Det vil finnes et bladeksemplar av bokkomponenten av Combined national anthems i resepsjonen på Kunsthall 3.14 om du ønsker å studere tekstene til disse nasjonalsangene.

Laurie Lax bor og jobber i Bergen, basert på USF Verftet, bodde tidligere i Bristol men opprinnelig fra Sørøst-Kent i England. . Utdannet med MA i kunst i Bergen i 2018 og BA i kunst fra Bath (UK) i 2010. For tiden er Laurie et aktivt medlem av TEXST (et bergenbasert skriftlig kollektiv) og hun jobber også med personlige prosjekter som blir utviklet fra nyere studier i Elektronisk litteratur ved UiB.

PARABOL - in collaboration with Kunsthall 3.14, Lydgalleriet selects a sound work that will be featured through their parabolic loudspeaker sited in the gallery's entrance hall. With a particular focus on special commissions and edits, the loudspeaker's adjacent location offers an ambience and mode of address corresponding with the simultaneous exhibition.

The sound component of Combined national anthems includes the national anthem tunes of: Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Moldova, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Serbia, UK and USA, who all appropriate the oak as their national tree.

The book component can be viewed on reception if you wish to study the lyrics of these anthems.

Living and working in Bergen (Norway), based at USF Verftet, previously living in Bristol (UK) but originally from Southeast Kent (UK). Graduated from masters in Fine Art in Bergen in 2018 and bachelors in Fine Art in Bath (UK) in 2010. Currently working as an active member of TEXST (a Bergen-based writing collective), and personal projects are being developed from recent studies in Electronic Literature at UiB.
