Since the 1980s, Maia Urstad has been a central figure in Norwegian sound art. She is a co-founder of Lydgalleriet in Bergen, a member of the international sound art collective Freq_out, and has exhibited at institutions such as Kunstnernes Hus, National Museum, Bergen Kunsthall, Malmö Konsthall, MOMENTUM Biennale and Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Berlin.
